    It's not a bogo, it's a JR-1 and it would grade VG

AKA a contemporary counterfeit. Unlike modern counterfeits, the contemporary's are quite collectible.

VG10 - and I like the skin on this one! Very wholesome! :thumb:

Not sure why there was any doubt regarding its authenticity...

I hope this isn't considered bad form....can I throw in another capped Bust and ask for a grading assessment? Trying to practice my grading on this.

My guess would be that the obverse looks like VF(?35?) and the Reverse looks like F12-VF25 - I was using the photo grading site http://coinauctionshelp.com/cappedbust_halfdollar_grading.html to try and assist my judgement on this. I thought the strong wear on the feathers on the reverse was the real detractor for the reverse, but I am just starting to learn. I welcome all feedback.

Well a bust half and a bust dime are a little different. Based off those pictures I would call it F-details. I think I see enough wear to pull it into the fine range, but the coin does not look well struck and I would not be surprised to see a TPG call it VF. I say details since the pictures make it look cleaned - at least in my opinion.

I agree that the reverse is is much more F12 and I'd call the ovbverse VF30.

I think a tpg would would grade it vf25 assuming there are no signs of cleaning. I can't tell from my hand held device. If fully struck that's a vf35, possibly higher. The early date, late die state coins can be confusing.
