Tried to pickup my first box of halves...bank would only give me 250. When they were sitting on the counter one roll had tails showing but seemed a little off on color. I got in my car and opened it....40%er. Doing the other 24 rolls tonight with my kids...

Lost another pickup bank today, that's okay, they sucked anyway and always took 30 minutes ot get it out of the vault, what a joke. Gives me an excuse to switch to more Loomis boxes.

Did pick up 3 boxes I found laying around Wayne, PA today. 3 '64's, 13 40%. Not a bad day. Also scooped $175 in ikes I need to run through tonight.

 

What specifically happened if you don't mind my asking? Did they cut you off outright or did they indirectly shut you down by saying they would start charging a fee for boxes?

 

They didn't have my order and asked me to come back to talk to one of the managers, Sandy. So I'm sure they're gonna cut me off. Don't know why, I'll call tomorrow and talk to them.

The Ikes didn't give up any Silver or T2's, but I did pull 3(!) FEV's, a '76 Proof, a very nice (64+ish) '76 T1, and a colorized '76. Lol. Also pulled about 30 higher-grade coins as keepers. Not bad for only $175 in ikes.

 

2 boxes of dimes gave up '64, '63, and '52 roosies as well as a '45 canadian 80%.

Oh, I almost forgot, I also pulled a '73 from those Ikes. I believe that's my first non-silver 1973 Ike.

 

Well...out of $250 halves...only pulled one 40%er...oh well some silver is better than none...gotta find a bank that will give up more volume. Kids enjoyed it though.

one of my pick up banks has 900 dollars in halves. I asked if they were all dropped off at once she said yes. Should I still search them or not waste my time?

Never know what you'll find! Probably a skunk, but hey, you don't want to leave 'em behind, then find out that someone came by and took them a few days later and it ended up being 90 rolls of 40%'ers, eh? Lol.

It's amazing to me that you found 3 boxes of halves laying around at various banks. I'll prob have a heart attack if one day I walk into a bank and ask for halves and they produce a full box of halves for me. Maybe they are TZ boxes? I hope so and you sniped them. I would!

So nice to wake up, get showered/dressed and have the phone ring with a new supplier on the other end saying "your box of halves is here"! Different BofA branch that I believe is in a different delivery district. I'll post results tonight. Hope it's good news.

 

Hey Everyone! Thought I'd stop in and say hi! It's been awhile. I've been busy with the new side biz and have not CRH since May. I've been a bit itchy lately and found $4 in loose Halves at one bank the other day....Skunk.

I'm thinking about getting back into dimes. How have things been trending the last 6 months. Is it just as tough?
