Question about a Die Gouge

    Would this be a die Gouge and is it an error I got it from a sealed box of Lincoln Cents
    From the bank so wouldn’t it be from the Mint.:headbang:

    It looks incuse to me, which would be damage from inside or outside the mint. A die gouge would be incuse on the die, and standing out in relief on the coin.

    A sealed box from the bank is simply a full box that the bank got from it's coin supplier, probably Brinks, or one of the other armored car companies. The coin left the mint in a canvass sack, possibly after having been damaged; and was rolled and boxed almost certainly by an armored car company, with a very small chance that it was by one of the few very large banks which roll their own.

    It looks more like a strike-through error to me.
