Here's the CWR of war nickles I found:

Upon further inspection I'm not sure the quarter is a transition error, but it sounds quite different than a normal clad when dropped. I'll have to do some more experimentation.

REALEY GOOD FIND! I found it and I DON'T BELIEVE it!

I had a great day looking for coins today. Here is a picture of everything I found:

    2012-12-06 copy.jpg

Two nearly perfect 1979-S proof half dollars, a 1943 Walker, 3 Mercs, 11 silver Roosevelt dimes, and a 1945 Canadian nickel.

BUT DID YOU SEE THE COIN IN THE MIDDLE? IT CAME IN A ROLL OF DIMES!

    Here it is:

    2012-12-06HalfReale_o.jpg 2012-12-06HalfReale_r.jpg

It's a HALF REALE from 1783 with a portrait of Carollos III! Holy smokes! My oldest circulation find before this was an 1880's Indian head penny. This is 100 years older! Real pirate treasure! It came in my first box of dimes of the day. The same box had two Mercury dimes in it as well.

I found a half reale metal detecting once. This one is very different looking. The metal does not even really look like silver. I am wondering if it may be a contemporary counterfeit.

I have found more valuable coins, but never anything more cool!

How can I top this? I don't know, but I hope to find out!

Thanks for looking...good luck and happy hunting!

2 boxes of dimes - both skunk.

But the dump bank teller was holding something for me: 21 Ikes & 5.50 in halves.

All of the halves were 40%

One of the Ikes was not an Ike, but a 1924 Peace Dollar!

Box of Halves - 1 (40% - 65' with some battle wounds) and 2007S Proof...correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the 2007 minted in San Fran were proofs and looking at it, well...see below. Not the greatest looking, but better than skunked :)

Just dropped off some pizzas to my PickUp bank and the DropOff bank. I like making my tellers happy. :)

Man, the two boxes I ordered on Monday, clown boy teller "forgot" to order them.
Picked up a box of halves and 2 x Dimes for the weekend from a different bank.
Bought a new car this week and picked it up last night. Me and the kids are going to have some fun driving around buying boxes and dumping coins in this thing. Paid for some of the car with some 40%er's I sold.

1 bag of Ike's. 2-1973 clad, 1-1971S. I still have to check them for types. I will post if I find anything else.

Got my normal pick up of 2 boxes of cents, 1 box of nickels. Decided to get $50 in dimes and $100 in quarters. Nickels were skunk except about 50 pre-60's. No war. Dimes were skunk. Quarters gave me two silver. A 64 and a 39. :) Not too shabby. Will do the cents tonight.

Yeah so far I've only gone through $630 and really was never thinking I'd find any silver. I'm just trying to get my ATB set up-to-date and then the first one popped out, the 39. I was pretty stoked, and then I opened up the very next roll and the 64 was sitting there. Couldn't believe it!
Now if I could only find those missing ATB's...I will certainly take any silver I come across while I'm looking for them though :)

Went through four rolls of half dollars and no silver was found, but it was my first coin roll searching experience. I was able to basically complete a set from 1971 to 88 or so though. It made me feel like Charlie when he first tears open the paper surrounding the bar of chocolate. Also the wife works with someone who is also a bank manager and is putting us on 'the list' of people to call when they find odd stuff. Good day overall :)
