    Especially when you stumble across someone teaching a "better" method for sorting 1982 cents than simply comparing weights.

    Just use a knife or file and scrape the edge to see what color metal is underneath. [​IMG] What a great [​IMG] idea.

    or you can just soak them in hydrocloric acid and it will eat the outer covering off so you can tell the difference!

    Actually HCl won't react with copper, only zinc, so if there was a small nick in it it would produce a shell of copper.
