I came across this oddity while roll searching, it looks as if the 2 pennies fused together, I know it is possible that it is nothing more than two coins superglued together but before I use force or chemicals to pry them apart I would like to hear what others think about it, as I would really hate damaging what might be a real error. One penny is thicker than the other and it is really hard to say if either are the same thickness of a standard penny.
Don't see how it could be an error because I can't think of any part of the minting process where this could happen.
If two planchets enter the coining chamber it is POSSIBLE to fuse them together, but the edges wouldn't look like that and since one of them would extend up above the coining chamber it wouldn't have a properly formed edge at all.
