Foreign Silver coin, please help

    I got this old silver coin, which I believe it is silver from a friend of mine. What is it? It looks like the size of a half dollar almost. Maybe Vietnamese?? Thanks Tom

    Thai. That's a common design used for more than one denomination so since I don't read Siamese script, I would need to know the diameter to tell the denomination. My guess is either 1 or 5 baht.

    The only dates that give me more trouble than Israeli ones are Thai, so I'm no help there.

    BTW, sad to say, it's almost certainly cu-ni, not silver. :(

    It's sufficiently common that it is safe to say it has a value well below a dollar in that condition. :( :(

    Hello folks:

    Yes the coin in question is a Thai 1 Baht coin from 1962. I also agree it is Cupro Nickel. Under a dollar in value for sure.
