I took this photo of the Napa river, here in Napa, California about an half hour ago. The river is out of its bank now.
Same (more rain) most places here in NW WA. Ground is saturated, more precipitation inbound, at least one notorious river already at flood (Skokomish); but we don't have any long rivers, nothing like all of those NoCal monsters. Ours are short & steep, so what flooding occurs is pretty quickly over. I'm between the Dungeness and the Elwha (which had two 100-year-old dams removed recently). Spectacular to watch, but rarely any serious damage...a nuisance, mostly. Best wishes for a low crest and a quick recession on the Napa...stay dry as you can!
Oh I hate floods - get your stuff outta there! Hope its all over soon and turns out ok. I just got caught outside in the rain here by Tacoma, wlwhittier.
Stay safe Ripley. I've been through two floods with a summer place that I own and it ain't fun. River mud is a (for lack of a better word) a female dog.......
Hey Ripley, stay dry up there! It's only gray and misty down here, so if you need a safe place to store your collection, you know my address Thank goodness we're finally getting some rain though. I just hope it doesn't get too "epic".......
