"Sold" my first item on Ebay. It is gold/silver ore. Purchaser claims he sent me $ via my paypal account but it is showing no credit for the purchase price/shipping. Does paypal place a hold on $? Would that hold show on my account? Feel the scam vibes a vibein'.

    Thx.

It he/she paid through paypal, it should show on your paypal, but also should show on your "myebay", that the person paid. Don't ship until you see your money!

Right. No money-no ship. If the buyer paid, the money will be in your account within a few minutes. Do not ship until you have the money in your account.

Hold your mouse over the summary tab at the top right corner of the page and a drop down menu will appear. Look for "selling" and click it, this will bring you to a summary of all the items you are selling along with the status of said items. Scroll down the page and it will show you the items which you have sold and to the right of the item you sold should be a $ sign, if it is not lit up blue then you have not received anything and should not ship anything....

Paypal actually does hold your money now for a few days. So you can receive payment from the buyer and paypal has your money, but they wont release it until delivery of the package has been made and like a 3 day window clears after that to ensure the buyer had no problems. Thats been a recent change within the last 3-6 months

But you will see indication from ebay and paypal that you have been paid, you just have to wait like 10 days to access your money

You don't have to wait if you verify your paypal account unless the buyer sends an echeck. Ebay will show if you've been paid by looking at the "sold" items list in the selling manager section. If you're selling on ebay, get your account verified ASAP. Doing so give you instant access to your money and seemless transfer to your bank account.

It does hold your money until delivery but it is still posted to your balance, I strongly urge you not to ship anything until you verify you have been paid. Its unfortunate that your first selling experience has been not so pleasant but do not let it get to you eBay is actually not as bad as some make it out to be......

Look at you eBay seller page. It will show you the complete status of you item - sold, payment (including if it is an e-check), etc. If it is marked paid there, he has paid and you might want to check with PayPal. If it is not marked paid, the buyer is pulling your leg. BTW, you should also get a email telling you that you have received money.

PayPal has never held my money, not even for one minute. I can transfer immediately upon payment into my bank account. Like BadThad said, just verify your account and link to your bank account.

I had a lady that would not ship untill the paypal money cleared her bank account one time Made me nervous that she had my money in her paypal account but was holding up on shipping till she got the cash in hand . Everything went fine.

Right don't ship until it shows in your ebay "sell" section as paid and in your Paypal. Paypal will send you an email stating it was paid and was shipped now. Did you receive this email?

Paypal does hold your funds, but it does show a balance. I have been through this more than once to know. If it says you don't have payment, you don't.

Like I said, PayPal has never held my funds. I can transfer them immediately to my bank account, but they won't appear as available for about two days. I guess this could be considered a "hold."

If you are new to PayPal, even with a verified account, they will hold your money for a period of time until you develop a trust. I think it is based upon a certain number of completed sales. One they find that you are not a scammer, they release your funds immediately upon your shipping.

The transaction should show up on your paypal account, as well as be in your balance. It will not be in your "available" balance though, meaning the money is technically there, but you cannot use it until the package tracking number shows the product has been delivered, and even may be up to 3 days after that. At least in my personal experience. In 2010 though I got the money right away, not sure when they changed it up (for me at least?)...My PP is verified too.

PayPals terms of service is somewhat confusing and non-specific in this area. I could only find this after a brief search:

6.1 How to Withdraw Money. You may withdraw funds from your Account by electronically transferring them to your bank account, requesting a physical check through the mail, or using your PayPal Debit Card (eligible Users only). Funds may only be withdrawn in US Dollars. If you request a physical check, you will be charged the Withdrawing your Balance Fee as set out in Section 8. Generally, we will send checks only to Confirmed Addresses, unless you have a Verified Account. We will not send checks to P.O. Boxes. If you would like us to send a check to an address that does not meet these criteria, you must contact Customer Service and provide the documentation that we request to verify your association with the address. If you fail to cash a check within 180 Days of the date of issuance, we will return the funds to your Balance but we will retain the Withdrawing your Balance Fee. 6.2 Withdrawal Limits. Depending on the degree to which you have Verified your Account, we may limit the amount you may withdraw to $500.00 USD per month. You can view your withdrawal limit, if any, by logging into your Account and clicking on the View Limits link on the Account Overview page. In addition, we may delay withdrawals of large sums of money while we perform a risk review.

If it's your first item sold make sure the linked PayPal account shows the money in it prior to shipment. In fact print your shipping label from PayPal as that will link tracking and signature service to the transaction.
There is going to be a hold on the money until you get feedback from the buyer or thirty days. Yes they want to make sure you send the item and the customer is happy with the deal.
Most of the scams on eBay involve gold and you sold in that area.

I have about 80 or so EBay transactions through paypal. Have my bank acct and credit card link too. They also have given me a credit line for over time payment. So I would assume at this point this seller is messing with me. Thx all.
