I have a whole pile of coins that look like they have doubling on them, but since most seem to be MD i just put them aside and figure i'll look at them closer later. This is one of the only coins i've found, and i just found it today, that has doubling on the face. Mostly i see it on the letters and whatnot. Was wondering what you all thought.

I say machine doubling. The 'E' in 'WE' of 'In God We Trust' also shows it.

You know what, i put the wrong mint letter in there, it's a D not a P, i was looking at the other pics i had taken of the 3 P ones, my bad. I can't change the title now, so hopefully no one gets too upset about that.

What if I told you I have this exact same coin? I've been researching it for years. Is it possible for machine doubling to be identical?

    Yes.

And BTW, it's machine doubling and if you spend a lot of time researching it, you're just wasting your time. Not to be a Danny Downer, but there's really nothing to research other than the fact that it's machine doubling on a beat up circulated quarter.
