Had the repost this, prior post seems to have moved or been moved to sales/auction forum somehow so deleted and we try this again. (ps I know for a fact i didn't post it in the auction forum) Just got lucky on e-bay. Scored 2 1921 AU/BU morgans One "d" and one "s" for only $60. I'm a happy camper! Now 3 of 4 mint slots in the yearbook filled with 21's Now just need a CC for last slot shame it can't be a 21 too lol.
can't wait to get em in my hands on them. I was looking for my monthly morgan or 2 for the yearbook had my eye on a few inclueding a not to bad AG CC and a real pretty 1900 AU (AT) cartwheel rainbow but these popped up in the search with 2min left at only 58 for the 2. I couldn't resist a potshot since i needed the d for the denver mint slot anyway lol the s is sorta a bonus
With all due respect, the price paid is more in line with average retail than a score, but if you are pleased and will enjoy the coins, this is all that really matters. There are a number of neat VAMs for the date/mints, and even though I am not a fan of the 1921 design, they still can be fun to attribute. Who knows... sometime you might come across a lovely pot metal "1921-CC" to fill that slot
It is a score for me considering it is at minimum $20 in gas for me to get to the nearest store that sells morgans and the pickings are slim at best. 2nd maybe you can get morgans in this condition for average retail 30 each but I sure as heck can't. Junk silver commons maybe but nothing in this condition under the 40-50 range. as for the cc that will be real if lower grade. I won't put a fake 1877 in my penny boks I be darned if I would with my morgans.
Twas an obvious joke, guy... lighten up. Defensive, are we? Nothing said was an attack, and I am quite sure you know this. How was I supposed to know your travel costs or that your local dealers want rip prices? Money is money, and most every day of I life I speak to someone who has overpaid or is paying more than necessary, so my response was nothing more than simple and well-intentioned advice. Again, if YOU are happy with the coins, that is ALL that really matters. Congrats.
Neither did I. In case you are unfamiliar, I thought this may be of interest to you: http://www.vamworld.com/21-D+Die+Crack+Break+Guide
