It is almost too uniform to be a die break. It could be a die gouge like non cents said, or it could be a die dent. Even though I'd get headaches searching bags of Lincoln cents (don't do it any more!), one of the fun things of searching 5000 coins of the same date/mm is that when you find something like a clash, dent or gouge, there will usually be lots more of them in the bag.
