I had a near explosive interest in US Currency develop back in the Winter of 2010, sort of out of nowhere! I bought a bunch of historic notes, and built this website that tells a nice little abbreviated overview story of the history of U.S. Currency. And since then, my attention has turned back to my first love, coins. I did post the website, I think in the Summer of 2010, but thought I would post it again since some new members might not have seen it. I haven't actually looked at it in over a year - but the story presented is still fun to read. Do others find their interest in collecting currency sort of ebb and flow? https://mindstar.com/currency/
I like the site, your story mirrors my own - I was perusing eBay for computer equipment for my business when somehow I stumbled across an old large size note, I had never realized US Currency wasn't always small. Then I saw the Buffalo note, and I knew then and there that my old person avocation would be collecting currency...
Very nice site, very informative. I started out collecting coins, after awhile they all started to look so cold and metallic looking, and I lost interest, then I seen my first Bank Note, it was a Buffalo Bill, that did it, warm, colorful, artistic, etc. went ahead and bought the Friedberg book on US Paper Money and I was hooked, been selling or trading off all my coins for Bank Notes ever since.
