1982 d dime with die deterioration?

    Just wanted to confirm that the fattening on the lettering of this coin is due to die deterioration. Thanks.

    Yep, I think you can also attribute the weak strike on the details to this being a strike from a late state die. (Can see the weakness in the torch bands and the veins in the leaves.)

    Don't think something like this is considered an error per se, but is still interesting.
