So I found this in one of my boxes lastnite. I was wondering if it was a clipped planchet?

It looks like a genuine clipped planchet to me, nice find.

P.S. They are called cents. Not "pennies", if they are made in the US. Just for future reference.

Thanks. I know they are "cents" I just have been calling them pennies for ummm ever. :) It's a hard habit to break.
Are these clipped planchets fairly common? I just found a clipped quarter last week. I haven't seen any others besides those two but I've only been looking for a few months.

They aren't uncommon, I have found a few in my 2 years of collecting. They can go for $5 and up on ebay depending on clip size. The big ones, like say a clip 25% of the coin and larger, command a significant premium.
