is it an RDV-003 variety Type C reverse or can you tell from the pics? Also how can you tell it has been cleaned?

I can't tell if it is a type C based on the pics. Please post a better reverse photo. If it is a Type C, it is worth more than melt.

    I don't believe it's a Type C. The tail feathers don't appear strong enough.

Most of the reverse is very worn(feathers and leaves). I was looking at the distance between the bottom of the E and S in STATES due to the wear as the only way to compare the coins. I came across these pics of what a Type A, B, and C look like. This is why I was thinking it might be a Type C. The first one is mine then Types A, B, and C. I think B has too wide of a gap and A has to small of a gap. C looks close to what I got but not sure.

I don't believe the ES distance is a recognized diagnostic of a Type C. I know it is for Type B...but being a D mint coin, it can't be a type B. Typically, the easiest way to tell a Type C...even in a worn coin is the strength of the tail feathers (even when worn, they will appear stronger than normal) and the leaf touching the tail feathers. I believe this coin has neither. That said, inspection in hand would be needed to confirm.

Also, I don't expect this coin to carry a huge price tag even if it turns out to be a Type C due it's grade...but it would be worth more than melt.

FWIW , here is an image of my Type C quarter graded AU58.
