I am still alive. No silver for me in MONTHS. Haven't even made it by the local coin shop as I am our family's only income at the moment.

However, I did find a 1954 Nickel. Needed that for my collection of pre-60 Jeffersons.

    Darchangel,

That error coin is a cool find. I prob would have never picked up out becuase I only edge search and toss them into a bag not paying much attention to anything not silver. How did you manage to sort that out of a box of dimes. I've never seen Mercs in that bad of condition, but who cares, they are still silver.
    Good finds!

Was doing some laundry last night and was taking the clothes out of the dryer. Resting on top of the lint trap was a silver dime. I must have had it in my pants pocket and they went through the wash. Then I got to thinking, I've been finding them in two's, sure enough there was another silver Roosie on top of the dryer that my wife had found earlier in the day. Oops, I guess I need to be more careful with my silver. Back when I first started hunting that would have never happened, I guess I'm getting jaded.

Nah, you're just getting lazy. I found a couple bucks in silver when I cleaned out my old car prior to selling it lol. When you have a good day, it's easy to lose track of a coin or two.

BTW, I visited my SDB last night, and as promised, pictures...

Is all of your collection from CRH?

That is crazy Fade, you get most of that roll searching and trading in 40%ers? At least I can say I have the same amount of quarters as you ;). That just makes my 35 ounces look like childs play.

metal detecting find that was spent, maybe

Looks like an old metal detecting find that got spent. I have dug some silver coins that came out of the ground like that.

I purchased maybe 6 rolls of the dimes and maybe 1 roll of halves, along with about 1/2 the quarters, the rest is from CRH, yes. I routinely go through junk silver and buy anything interesting, it's my version of exchanging 40% for 90%.

2 boxes of halves Skunk. I have 2 more to go. The bank called me and they had a box of quarters for me. I picked it up and it is 50 rolls of uncirculated State Quarters from different mints, states, and years. Some of them are bank rolls and some are CWR. Not sure what to do with them. What would you guys do?

'Scuse me while I wipe up the pool of drool from my desk after peeping Fade's super SDB stash of silver porn. I generally only edge search too, but I do kinda glance at my bag as it starts to get close to the top when I'm dumping them in. It really was just sheer luck that the error coin caught my eye. The Mercs were all very thin on the edges which made me immediately pull them out of curiosity. I'll definitely take 'em!

    $80 BWR halves: One 40%
    $240 CWR halves: Nothing
    $20.50 loose halves: Nothing

Also picked up five Ikes, a box of dimes, and a box of nickels. The Ikes aren't anything special, and the dimes and nickels look like solid 2012 D. Might try to sell some rolls off over the weekend as I'll be stuck inside with a cold :(

P.S. One of the BWR's was a type I'd never seen before. The newest coin in it was a 1992, and based on the condition of the coins I wouldn't be surprised if it had been sitting around somewhere for 20 years. Now if only I could find the rest of them!

Last day of November 2012 finds

17 40%ers from a single teller's tray (she said "I've been saving these because I think they are old and might be worth more." then handed them to me)

plus a 1964-D Roosevelt dime and a 1937 Merc from a box of dimes

plus one 1943-P war nickel from a box of nickels today!
