You need to read their fee schedule again. It is closer to 2%. For fixed price auctions (http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html#if_fixed); That would be $482.50 for a 22K sale.
The coin in question was purchased from Stacks , Last time I bought from the the buyers premium that I paid was 17.5% to 15%. The bid was probably approx $19,000 & with the 17.5% - 15% ,give or take some $ its close to a $3000 buyers premium. That is what the buyer paid to bring his purchase price to just over $22k. Now the buyer has the coin for sale on eBay for nearly $75K
Sorry, but I thought you were referring to a BNB eBay auction. Anyway, it shows why eBay's fees are not totally out of the park.
Are not eBay store items capped on the FVF at a lower amount than what you showed. I have a store just don't sell anything with that kind of price on it.
As best I can see it, store fees for fixed price are identical. Store fees to auction are slightly lower (7.5% then 4% vs. 11% then 6%) for <$1000, but both are capped at 2%
It is difficult to forget the video of BNB's diatribe that threatens an unknown person who stole his idea. It was the most entertaining few minutes of video that I've seen since watching parts of the last episode of the Walking Dead. May he live in infamy.
