Thanks all! Anyone know a value for this variety... I know they are the more common of the WAMs but im curious as to what the value might be!

I would expect $10-20 for an uncirculated example. I would think $2-7 with yours.

According to the book "Strike it Rich with Pocket Change", AU brings $2 while an uncirc brings $45. What it would actually bring is a mystery. Nice find all the same!

Sounds good... I was thinking about $5... I think that would be the last coin ill ever get rid of though... I have been through about 10 boxes and always wanted tofind one! Being in KS we see more Ds than Ps in the coin area... dont know why, you would think that we would have a healthy mix of mints being in mid America!

    Congratulations!!!

Which errors do you typically look for? Does your 'short list' include the 1992 CAM? Very cool... how does it feel to finally find something??? I just started ;o)

Who's list doesn't include the '92 CAM lol. I check for the four major CAM/WAM (92,98,99,2000) and both major varieties of '95 DDO's. Also on the "short list" is the 1980 DDO but I don't plan on finding one of those, probably ever. Keep trying to remember to pull '88's for the RDV-006 but keep forgetting.

Cool... I wasn't aware of the 1980 DDO variety (just the 1982 DDR). How rare is it?

    And what is RDV-006?

    Thx!

The 1980 DDO is a pretty hard one to come by, but it is out there. I know a few people who have pulled one from the wild, a few in MS condition!

RDV-006 (stands for reverse design variety I believe) is a transitional variety. Some cents struck in 1988 can be found with the reverse design of a 1989 cent, which is most noticeable in the initials. Check out this link for more info:

bryantallard show me the money....so i can look through it

    my short list is the 59 ddo 60d rpm/overdate, 63d rpm/ddo, 64d rpm, 69s ddo, 71 ddo, 72 ddo, 95 ddo, 95d ddo, (98,99.2000) wam
no 92 cam and i took the 84,88,97 doubled ear off my list.

I also keep and eye out 1964P DDR and 1983P DDR because they are both very strong doubled die reverses. And I always check my 1988 cents for the RDV-006.

Looks like I need to expand my search again! (I haven't been looking for any varieties earlier than 1969). Do you use a loupe to identify DDOs and DDRs? I'm hoping to get a Belomo for Christmas (fingers crossed) - I feel like I might be missing some with my naked eyes.

Hey Bryan... any explanation for taking the 92 CAM off your list?

    Thx!
