I have filled a 5 gallon water jug with a mix of coins....pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and halves? Am wondering what the value might be on average?

$2,500 is my guess. I filled one to the near top a couple years ago and I got like $2,250 or so. But to be honest, it can vary greatly depending on which coins you have more of.

Pretty sure he's talking about money value, not collector value. They're just ordinary circulated coins. Correct me if I'm wrong, Silver Soul.

$45.00. I'll pay with PayPal and I'll even pay for shipping.

Ah, well random US coin value usually ranges between $10-15 per pound I believe. Weigh it and you might get a decent estimate.

depends on denomination of said coins... 5 gal of cents is worth less than 5 gals of quarters.

    Imperial gallons or US gallons?

The value is a function of total face value of all coins in the jug plus $5 for the jug. :D

I also had a similar jug and recall it came to about $2,000. Also, when I lifted it, the glass bottom broke from the weight of the coins. So be careful!

And that's the very reason jug manufacturers switched from glass to plastic.;)

Depends how many of the coins are silver.

He doesn't. He is just poking the membership with a stick. It's spam or he is just making fun of everyone that actually takes him seriously.

    Not a contest
    A mix of circulated coins
Did seed with $500 of halves after examining
Examined all coins prior to jugging
    No on the $45 offer
    US gallons
    Jug was $7
    No water in jug
    No appreciable silver content
    Jug is plastic
    Surely wasn't a joke initially...but
Had a tear in my eye from laughing so hard
Thought maybe I would get a 'ballpark' idea...and did
So enjoy the 'repartee' on this board
