This is another medal that was produced by Medallic Art Company to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Nevada statehood in 1965. The medal was produced in 1964. I like the way they used the derrick as a scale with a train atop it traveling from the west, leaving the past represented by the Conestoga wagon and heading east to the future respresented by the rocket. On the reverse is a portrait of William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody. Cody led a storied life as a military scout, Indian fighter, buffalo hunter and showman. For decades, his Wild West Show toured the US and Europe where he also gave command performances to monarchs and royalty of the day. During the late 19th century, Buffalo Bill Cody was the most recognizable person on the planet. This medal is 44mm, approximately 1.8 ozs. of .999 fine silver and is numbered on the edge C421. It is housed in a small presentation box that also has the number printed on it. Chris
