If given a choice of one or the other, which would you prefer to collect?

Lincoln - definitely. Dime is so boring and doesn't have much errors or varieties as Lincoln does (talking about coins here)

Oh, don't worry, I have a couple nice Rosies too but don't have the images handy.

Lincolns. Roosevelt dimes are the least attractive coin even minted

The Academy better awards that Oscar to Day-Lewis now than later!

ps: very well written movie and an amazing portrayal of Lincoln!

Eh, I think it has a nice classical look to it, a decent enough portrait of FDR with an almost Roman-style reverse. SBAs are far worse lol... no offense to Susan B. Anthony but that is not a very flattering portrait, and while the reverse is nice the designer just cheated and stole that from the Ike dollar anyway (that reverse looks great on the 1999-P proof though!).

I think the ugliest single coin the US ever minted was the Korea commemorative myself. No idea what the designer was thinking lol...

Er but as to the OP's question... Lincoln I suppose, there's a lot more to do here than with Roosevelt. Roosevelt dimes just don't have that huge of a variety. Heck Lincolns have 7 major varieties of reverses alone! And that's not even looking at the individual dates and minor varieties... I think you'd have a lot more fun with this one. This is the only series I collect by series, other than JFK halves. It's how I got started coin collecting in the first place.

P.S. But heck, pick up a 1996-W dime just for fun anyway lol...

I started collecting Lincoln's when 1909's and the like were still circulating.

    Still stuck with Lincoln's.

Lincoln for the win. Way cooler coin in so many ways. Roosies pale next to Mercs.

Plus, Roosevelt was a ^^^^^ [edited by myself to remove political commentary]

I like silver Roosies. Not a big copper collector, just fill the folders.... But I always enjoy looking at everyone's toned and error cents though! I think a lot of people started on wheats. Just got to go with the silver.

To be honest I thought the best acting was by Tommy Lee Jones (as Thaddeus Stephens). But Lewis was good in it too. Seemed a little melodramatic at times, and was definitely Oscar-baiting lol, but overall I thought it was really good.
