Hi all, I recently got the Dansco state quarter album that my grandpa had started and would like to work on finishing it off. It has all P,D, and S's in there minus the silver proofs up to 2002 Tennessee. I was wondering how everyone goes about filling these albums. Obviously I don't want to put just any old quarter in there. All of the others in the folder are bright shiny and uncirculated. Should I buy mint sets and break them apart? I don't really want to A)have the other coins and B)break coins out of the case they originally come in. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
http://www.mintproducts.com/state-quarter-singles/ you can get the rest of the uncirculated set on here i think and as for the s mint proofs youll need to break up some sets or buy them seperately on ebay
Is it possible to get s mint proofs at coin shows? He could check the internet and local newspapers for shows.
it is possible but i have hd better luck getting them from ebay for cheaper.. your local coin dealer will have them as well
Thanks for the link. My nearest coin dealer is about 20 miles away down in D.C. It would have been nice to have the folder a couple of weeks ago so I could have gone to the big coin show in Baltimore. Oh well.
Try coinshop.com. They break apart mint and proof sets, and you can bid on the singles you need. Free shipping when you reach a $10 minimum. They inspect each coin to enhance quality. TC
Possible, yes, but these aren't hard to get online, from eBay, from most coin shops, etc. May be more convenient and/or cheaper to do it that way. If you don't want to break open mint and proof sets you can still pretty easily get these, most sellers of coins, online or brick and mortar, have quite a few.
