Put in hints for a high grade Walking Liberty half dollar this year (don't care what date, a common date in high condition would be perfect). On the giving side got my brother a 1986-S proof American Silver Eagle in its OGP. He was born in 1986, making him the only brother I could do this for (my other brothers were born in 1981 and 1983, before the ASE was minted).
This is the actual Pawn Stars eBay page, they're not the limited edition of the 500. Those were kept by the old man. $65 is steep for an oz of the old man. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pawn-Stars-Old-Man-71st-Birthday-Silver-Round-1-Troy-Ounce-999-Fine-Silver-Coin-/281020119164?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item416e1ab87c
That is one beautiful coin. I didn't know that was part of a series that includes the Ural Owl, which in my opinion is the most beautiful coin out there. Too bad they are so damn expensive.
I would love a MS66 1951 S or 1952 S Franklin half dollar. Really any coin from a family member would be something that I would keep in my collection forever.
Yes, the Ural Owl is a beautiful coin, and I thought I liked it more than the Long-Earned Hedgehog until I had them both in my hand. They're both amazing coins and I'm glad I have one of each, but if I had to make a choice on only one, it would be tough. Hopefully we'll see a followup coin here in 2013!
I have a few that I put on my list of gift ideas such as a 2011 25th anniversary silver eagle set or a roll of ASE's. In all honesty though I'm more hoping for a 2 moa Aimpoint T-1.
Tough call but if it was simply a xmas "wish" it would be either a 95 dmpl morgan (may as well wish for the top lol) or even a nice DMPL CC the year doesn't matter. Still on the wish theme, I would have to add in 1877 IH or MS FEs Reality: I have ask the woman to pick me up a couple more large cents and the Dansco album to stuff em in
Other than an XF or AU large cent to stuff in the Dansco, that really nice 2 volume set on large cents would be nice.
My wife wants this one. No, seriously. Do they sell flips for this? http://www.mint.ca/store/mint/learn/10-kilo-coin-6500002
