Well .. Kinda sick of the stinky coins so went to my box of proof set..
I thought I would start with the 1970 S Lincoln but saw this Dime
Can someone confirm what I am seeing.. I don't see this in CherryPickers..
It is a 1970S Proof That looks like strong Doubling/Tripling??
Sorry if Pictures are rough .. I will get more in the Morning..
Anyone have info on a Roosevelt 1970S with this Doubling?

    Strong strike doubling.

Proof coins are actually more prone to strike doubling than business strike coins since each gets stuck at least twice anyway.

Yep, it is not a doubled die. It is machine doubling on a proof coin.

    Thanks,

I thought that this was a new thirty cent piece.

Yes it is Machine Doubling, possibly with the doubling occurring on both strikes? (Machine doubling on top of machine doubling?)

I have one just like this. My also have a die chip in the top loop of the S So this is not an error? Same year 1970S, I also have one with a repunched date.

It is possible to have MD and DD on the same coin. Closer pics would be helpful.

obvious strike doubling is NOT a DDO.

It appears to have been resurrected with an different coin.

From the pics it looks like just MD. Can you get closer clearer pics?

Oh sorry. I was just doing a search on 1970S proof DD because I just came across one, during my search I found this post without looking at how old the post was. Should I start another thread?
