Okay, just to keep the thread on-track, include only ANACS, NGC and PCGS slabs. We all know the others tend to be laughable, so no point wasting space here on it. Please include what you think the grade should have been. Here is my nomination. In addition to horrible looking fog and tone, there are also significant scratches on the coin visible with minimal magnification. Not sure how this could have possibly made it through quality control unless most of the tone developed in the holder after slabbing. Now I understand there is this whole concept of technical grading that says a coin, even if it looks like it was fished from a tar pit, should be graded based on the absence of marks or wear. But lets face it, especially on modern coins, if the coins doesn't look as struck it doesn't belong in an MS69 holder. In my case, I would say an MS64 would have been quite generous, even if the coin were white. I say that based on scratches on the obverse of the coin.
