Elephant Coinage

    Ok, lets see something different. How about your elephant coingae. Here is my most recent and only one I'm certain I have. A Kushan tetradrachm of Huvishka I (152-192 AD), Jammu-Kashmir, 24mm and 10.1g, bronze. From Pigmy to Columbian Mammoth, lets see them :D

    Can't remember where else you would have elephants on coinages. Maybe Thailand, Sri Lanka, India and some other African nations would have them.

    I already posted my elephant coin at the same time as my "snakes on a coin".Julius Caesar with elephant stomping a snake (talk about Freudian symbolism)...two for the price of one..

    here is a large pic of the Somalia coin from my collection. Looking into it I found that this coin isnt even in circulation in Somalia as coins arent in regular use there (save coins of other nations)...its hard for them just to get paper money printed.
