Box of dimes-- skunk (my first :( )

    $10 pennies-- 1976 Bermuda 1c
    9 Canadians oldest 1961
Wheaties-- 58D, 45, 57, 44, 55D, 45, 46, 42, 46, and 50 all in average circulated condition... But then I was stopped dead in my tracks with my last find: an uncirculated 48S in MS-60 condition in my opinion. It is a BEAUTY and definitely made up for the earlier skunk :smile. I also foung a 47D in change from my local DD.

Arrived at my in-laws for Turkey Day. Got here early enough to hit some banks for half dollars. Went to probably 6-7 different banks and asked for halves. Most had a few but no silver. The last bank that I hit at 5:20 (before the 5:30 closing time) was 5/3 Bank and low and behold, they had 7 halves, one of which was a beautiful 1968. So, not all worthless.

Searched 50$ in Kennedy's.... 3 nifc's.... that's it. :*( that was after going to 3 different banks during lunch to find em... and yes... I search in my car. Also, had been finding a lot of Ike's in the past month, but now nobody seems to even know what the heck i'm asking for in Ikes. On a different note, I've been trying to find the 2011 and 2012 series quarters... I have only found 9 coins in circulation in over 100$ in modern rolls. Anyone else notice that they don't seem to be well circulated?

I have noticed that. The ATB quarters are not showing up in the same numbers as State quarters are, and I have searched a LOT of quarters. The Oklahoma one seems to be the most common. Being here in Los Angeles, we get the Ds, of which I have all up to and including the Hawaii (ATB) Still need Mississippi, Maine, Hawaii Ps though. Oddly, the first Washington and Puerto Rico ATBs I got hold of were Ps. Maybe just give it a couple of years. ANyway....

    Today's results:

    $2 Pennies: 35 copper, 1 dime.

    $4 Nickles: 1954D

    $140 Quarters: 1993 Panama.

I actually ran across some of the Denali quarters the other day, so they're out there, too.

I found my first 1970 half today, too! Four boxes of halves: Two magician's coins, one '64, and a nicely toned but beat up 1970 S silver clad proof.

Still on the look out for double-sided halves! If you have any please send me a PM!

Two ugliest proof half dollars ever found...

This is very strange! I just found my first ever 1970 half dollar and reading the forum I see two other posters just did recently, too! I found this 1968-S and 1970-S on 11/19:

Pretty bad tarnish! But I will take them both.

The story on the back of a Mercury dime

If you haven't ever noticed, there is a quite a bit going on on the back of a Mercury dime. If you look closely, you can see a white picket fence.

    MercStory.jpg

Hanging over the fence is a large tree branch. And parked on the right is an old car. If you look really closely through the window, you can even see two people kissing in the back seat.

Can't see the people? Well, how much did you expect for a dime?
