the 1970 s looks like there something in the middle of the top of the s and the other 1960 the d looks funny anyone know whats going on thanks for your input hope to hear from someone with more ideas of what they are
The 1970-s is normal, most likely a damaged mintmark. The 1960-D, however, is actually a repunched mintmark variety! This variety occurs when mint employees add the mintmark to the die. Sometimes when they add it, the mintmark may not be bold enough or added properly, so they add it again, resulting in one or more extra mintmarks.
See if you can ID the 60D RPM from the CONECA Lisitings using the descriptions and markers...there are only 113. http://www.varietyvista.com/Variety Master Listings/lincoln rpms 1960 001-060.htm http://www.varietyvista.com/Variety Master Listings/lincoln rpms 1960 061-113.htm Larry Nienaber
A better website to check would be coppercoins.com...put in the date, mintmark, and variety, and it will give you pictures and markers. Good luck and let us know!
