He is 35 miles away at the moment. Maybe next time I see him I can get one.

I understand it's not the poster's coin, but still, it is a very rare find. I know a couple of the roll searchers have found gold, but they all included pics. I'm not saying I don't believe it, but it'd be great to see a pic of such a great find.

I have a gold coin and a roll of nickels. I could take a picture of both, but that doesn't mean I found it in the roll of nickels. ;)

Black Friday Finds: 1942-S nickel, 1952-D cent, 1975 Bahamas nickel that just looked too cool to leave in the register

When I worked for Sam's Club I found almost $5 face worth of silver Roosevelt dimes (not all at once lol but for a while, like 2 to 3 a day). I also found a buffalo nickel, mercury dime, too many different foreign coins to count. Working for Crocs I found my most impressive circulation find to date, an almost CU 1957 $1 silver certificate (also a Barr note once).

I work in what's technically a retail paint store now, but most of our customers are contractors and pay with house credit, so don't get many interesting finds in the register anymore besides a few wheat cents and occasionally Canadian cents.

In my change at Chipotle once got a 1964 quarter in fairly decent (probably AU) condition; it's in my type set.

Sweet Find! My daughters both work as cashiers, I taught them both to "Name That Tune in 1 note". My Grandpa told me a story, when he was servicing vending machines out here at Fort Ord in the late 60's, a bunch of Proofs started showing up in the machines. Lots of 40's and 50's Washington quarters, Merc's and even a Proof Buffalo Nickel. It turned out that one of the Generals 10 year old son got into his collection and did a little shopping. Gramps saved them all and they were returned to the owner in exchange for face value. Now that's honesty!

Today economy+ non coin collectors you can find a lot of coins US+world coin spent or in bank roll's.I guess that is one thing that keeps roll hunting fun.

I have a friend who routinely gets pre-64 at his ice cream/doughnut shop. I'm very jealous, but glad I don't have his job! I figure kids are robbing their parents stash?

Does this count as a cash register find? I got it back in change?

It does have a nice color to it but I'm going to exchange it with a friend for a dollar - he appreciates them much more than I do.

Got another silver quarter today out of our register. I have been going through our rolled change when it comes in and I found a proof silver state quarter, nevada i think it was

I think so. Parents or grandparents get them a silver proof set and they do not really understand that they are not just mere pretty coins, but have bullion value above face.

    Some don't have bullion value.

Silver proof sets don't have bullion value?

Sorry about that, didn't see the "silver" part, and there are many proof sets that contain no silver. (And if you look on e-bay, you see some of these non-silver proof sets advertised as having silver.)
