I will be following this post shortly (once coin is completely dry) But said simply, I bought a bottle of badthad's Verdi-Care to treat my new 1828 Large cent which had the beginings of verdigris. I treated the coin with Verdi-Care according to the instructions. Now I looked at alot of BadThad's before and after shots, and all I can say is he needs some better pictures. I can't believe how well his product worked. (1st on a junk penny that was badly corroded and after I saw those results I couldn't wait to try it on the Large cent. Before and after pictures coming before the night is over. Thank You BadThad!
when you use chemicals on floors,teeth,coins or whatever you can say you conserved them or cleaned them and both are always true as one is the same as the other imo.i don't condem people who do it.
I'll hope BadThad or one of the other members who have used Verdi-care will give their opinions on this subject. I will say again, Major difference between conservation and cleaning. Verdi-care is NOT a cleaning solvent, it is specificaly used to kill verdigris and prevent its reacurance. No rubbing or scrubbing is involved, the primary purpose being to kill the organism that is slowy eating away the coin. If you can't understand the difference I suppose there is no point in saying more myself. However I will say that after your 1st post of "just another cleaned coin to bad", your second post "I don't condem people who do it" is simple hypocrisy.

Cleaning is a process that results in a market unacceptable coin. Conservation is a calculated and careful process that produces an undamaged, market acceptable coin. .....unless you're Doug.
