i searched for a while but could not find a thread discussing how to package your coins to be shipped off for grading. what precautions do you do when you're sending them out to get graded? do you just put the coins in their flips then throw them in a box inside another box? do you wrap the order form around the cions? i tried looking at ngc's website but i can not find a direct answer. if this is discussed in another thread does anybody have a link to it?

There are instructions on the graders' web sites.

On second look, I can't find anything on NGC site, either.

NGC likes loose coins in 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 (no PVC) flips and will accept coins in OGP.

do you think ngc would care if the flips are 2 x 2 instead of the 2.5 x 2.5 like they mention?

It's best to use 2.5x2.5 because it makes it easier to remove them.

all of my dealers only have 2 x 2's. guess im obligated to visit the coin store anyways just to double check. and should i just put 0 for the price for grading since i have the certificate? i also do not understand the MS or PF box on the form, is this just to tell if it is a proof or not or for purely uncirculated coins?

As a general rule, double box your coins so an employee can't grab through the side of a box,

i was planning on doing the shipping envelope inside of the shipping box, i read in another thread people do this.

Good idea, that second layer prevents easy theft.

is it ok to put the piece of paper with the invoice and coin number in the other side of the flip or taping it will be fine?
