Hello Friends and Paper Money Collectors...it has been a while since I was here and I just wanted to provide you with an update. The battle wages on with the Big "C" but we have made huge progress. My last hospital visit (last 10 days) did produce results that now have me reporting back in every 10 months. I am thrilled to say the least! The bad news comes as it has taken a toll on my collections as I have had to use funds from them to pay the bills and just live. I lost my job because of the illness...and insurance companies will not even think about touching me..wish it were that way on taxes..lol I suppose I would rather have my health than all the material stuff....now to find a job again. My collections saved me from a stand point of being liquid, however, the juice always get's you. I just wanted to pipe in and say hello and I am still breathing for a while longer... Regards, RickieB
It's great to hear from you Rickie, and equally good to get positive news on your health issues. Stay in touch bud.
Thank you folk's for the kind words....I feel a bit out of the loop if you know what I mean? I am looking forward to T-Day Peter....however, I am on a strict veggie diet for the mid-term stretch. I suppose one could say that my values have changed and I see things differently than I once did. Matt..I am considering just that and hope to talk with PMG in the weeks ahead after Turkey day.. I would love to do it... I hope to be around here more than what I have been..my time has been spent with family and getting better...man does that radiation surgery hurt..very difficult to swallow solids for weeks after the treatments..good way to loose excess pounds lol!! Last biopsy produced negative results for Barretts and I have hugged my Dr. many times for his great work! God has a mission for all of us...we just need to discover what it is...I suppose I am still looking for what I am supposed to do.. maybe its currency..maybe its something like a polar shift from what I have been doing. I know I want to do something I love! Regards, RickieB
Rickie, glad to get a positive update - we've missed you. Why don't you write a book on currency? Don
Wow Rick! I have been out of the loop as well but certainly not for your reasons.Take care of yourself first then see what happens. I CAN picture you as being a paper money dealer for sure my friend. Take care. Dan
So glad to hear about your positive progress, Rick! I hope you can continue to check in, just to share an occasional insight -- we miss your wisdom and knowledge. Greg
Great to hear from you, I was thinking about you the other day and the conversations we had on the phone a couple of years back. I know that family is very important to you and they sure trump hobbies etc which is the way it should be. Stop in from time to time, you have so much knowledge to contribute here and we have benefited much from it - particularly since you facilitated several of us getting the engraver's books.
Hi Rick, Very glad to hear from you. You are always in my thoughts!!! Candied sweet potato's are one of my favorites along with stuffing and pumpkin pie. I know I could fill up on those three alone on Thursday! Be well... BTW: Thanks for the like It put a smile on my face when I saw who it was from. Best Regards ~ Darryl
Rick, so glad to see you back in the forum and to hear that you're still fighting and winning the good fight you've been entangled with for so long now. As Clay said, it's something to be thankful for this week, and I think we are all thankful that you continue to be involved and update all of us here in these forums.
Guy's... thanks so much for your kind words.. I have a lot to be thankful for! My Wife, My Son, My Doctor, my friends.. and my will to keep keepin on! I have lost a lot of what I had..but I am still around. I suppose it was great having it while I was able.. to be diagnosed as "negative" now means more to me than all the Large and Small Size Collections I had. I still have about 45-50 notes that I pulled out of the Small Size Collection hanging around. It is pretty wimpy compared to what it was. Thanks again and I look forward to being around a little more as I move forward. Now.. to talk to PMG about that position..lol RickieB
Always a pleasure hearing from you, Rickie. You have a lot of friends on here who think very highly of you, no matter where life takes you. Take care. Guy
Nice to see you back again. Although I spend more time in the coin section, when I look for an expert on paper currency, I always find your comments lead a lot of the conversation. Those 40-45 notes you have, are probably at the top of their charts. I look forward to your new posts. Keep them coming along with your renewed health.
