    It looks like a modern design , then again if it was made in the '30s it was a rich hobo who made it . lol

    Wow illini420 sold that coin, haven't seen his name around for awhile. Looks like a Bill Zack hobo, or close to it. :thumb:

    Yup, I sold that one a couple of months ago. Was a pretty neat coin that was carved by a member of a coin club that I'm a part of here in SoCal. They took a beat up $3 gold coin with a hole in it and turned it into something really cool. I bought it from him and even got a little jar w/ the gold shavings from when he carved it, just under 1 gram of gold if I remember correctly.

    The same guy recently carved up a $5 Liberty gold for another member of our coin club who just put it up on eBay, the seller also happens to be a former member of this forum.
