Alrigthy----I got to see some nice coins the other day so I took some photos---just wish they were mine!
They are all graded by ANACS---the OLD ANACS...one is a problem coin---I missed it the first time but see what they saw and would agree---if the guy would crack it out and put it in a flip I think it would pass as a BU but I would never suggest such a thing.

The one Morgan is a VAM4----

I'll post the grades after some guesses.

I know the photos are the pits---I took really large ones but to upload them right now I had to make them smaller---when I get to work on my website I'll be able to upload larger photos.

On the Walker I'd guess MS63 and the 78cc I guess AU58/MS60....slider.Now for the 78 my guess that is the problem coin..am I right Speedy?

I would grade the walker a 65, and the morgan next to it has some hairlines. Net grade on that I would guess would be a 63/64.

The Walker looks sweet , MS65, The 78-P may have been cleaned and netted out as AU details but on the photos it's hard to tell. The 78-CC looks nice at MS63/64.

I missed the cc. I think it may have a scratch on the obverse, but I cannot tell from the photos. Assuming it is problem free, I would grade it a 63.

On a side note, can anyone tell me how anacs net grades? My net grade is probably way off, as I'm not sure how they do it.

    Zaneman,
I said "net' in my post, but I'm not sure ANACS even did net grade these slabs. I have seen slabs with a 'details' grade, slabs with a 'net' grade, and slabs with both.

    Hey Guys
Some of ya'll are nailing them-----and yes ANACS did net grade it---but I'm not telling what coin yet :D

    Zane
I asked Mr Taylor once about how does someone NET grade a coin---and he said that is why they quit---there is no set of rule that states it so it was really just a guess--Most of the time I've heard that cleaning will take a coin from MS to UNC-Details...or even AU Details...and other such things will take the grade down 1-2 points....
I once heard a dealer give a good set of rules on how many points to take off for a damged coin---I'll try to find it somewhere.

I'll post the grades here in a day or two---I'm also going to tell the owner of these coins the next time I see him what ya'll are guessing as he will be glad to hear it.

    Walker - 64
78 Morgan - AU55-MS60. I'm bad in the AU range.
78 CC Morgan - Looks to be close to a 64 in the pictures. +/- a point in hand. Is that a small ding I see just below the star near 7 o'clock on the rim? Might just be glare or something.

    65 on the walker
    64 on the cc
AU 58 on the 78, looks like a rim ding between 1 and 8 to me

    I'll give it a shot.

1943 Walking Liberty Half - MS64, but an incredibly strong strike!

1878 Morgan - AU58, cleaned because of the hairlines in the lower right obverse. It does have the little rim nick at 6 o'clock too. It's either AU or a weak strike...hard to tell without having it in hand, but I'll go AU.

    1878 CC Morgan - MS64

    Alrighty----

    They grade

    WL Half Dollar---ANACS MS63
    Morgan Dollar---the CC----MS63
The other Morgan Dollar is the problem coin---like ya'll guessed---it was cleaned IMHO---it graded UNC Details NET MS60.
