Entry post. I'd pick coin B as I collect German States coinage. Hamburg has always been one of my favorites because of the castle! Here's a much smaller coin from Hamburg, the dreiling at a tiny 13mm.

Those old Hallmark holders are cool- and kind of scarce. I had a MS 1915 Buffalo nickel in one, once upon a time. It’s the only time I’ve owned a Hallmark holder, and I could count on the fingers of one hand the number of times I’ve seen any others. I imagine those vintage holders are pretty scarce now, and collected as much for the rare plastic as they are for the coins inside.

I understand the indecision. It just tells me that I crafted this one pretty well, if folks are having a tough time choosing. ;)

If you happen to win, you’ve always got the opportunity to change your mind, up until the last minute when I ship the thing.

Bravo, Sir! ‘Twas a most excellent Monty Python reference there! :hilarious:

That globus cruciger on the Hamburg coin does indeed bear a passing resemblance to the Holy Hand Grenade!

I’ve got one of those! You’re right- they’re massive! I too was surprised at how big it was when I got it. I bought mine from Germany for a relatively modest sum, and submitted it to PCGS myself.

It did pretty well- came back MS64. It just barely fits inside the standard sized slab. One millimeter bigger, and they’d have had to put it in an oversized holder!

Being huge and gilt, these are impressive. Plus, it has all those zeros.

Thanks for the great giveaway @lordmarcovan. I would like to enter for (c) the WLH. I would like to get a green PCI holder for my collection and 1944 is my mother's birthyear.

Also interesting to me that the San Francisco mint was striking the Philippine coins during this year. And with a quick search, I found that during WW2 the Mint (P,D,S) was able to supply 26 countries across the globe: Australia, the Belgian Congo, Belgium, Bolivia, Cuba, Curaçao, the Dutch East Indies, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Fiji, France, French Indochina, Greenland, Guatemala, Honduras, Liberia, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Surinam, and Venezuela.

    I want in.

I would like the ancient because that is an area that I am pretty thin in. Thank you @lordmarcovan for your continued generosity.

Here's a couple of Hamburger's of my own.

I want in, and thanks LordM for the chance at a great prize.

The rub is in deciding on which one to go for, since they all are really quite awesome in their own right. While I usually focus on US coins, and that Lady is beautiful, I really do need to go with the (A) ancient; I have wanted to break into the dark side for a while now.

@psuman08 - because you’re the third person here who’s mentioned their mother was born in ‘44 (myself included), and I because I hadn’t noticed you post before, here’s an extra entry post for you, to increase your chance in the drawing.

You’re right- the San Francisco mint in 1944 must have been a busy place indeed, what with all that contract coinage produced for allied or friendly nations during WW2.

Here’s a belated bonus entry post for @Wheels, who posted an entry in Post #6. I always like it when someone wins a coin type they’ve never owned before in one of my contests. (Cointests, I guess you could call ‘em.)
