So you are saying that a die crack could indeed extend through a device? How could that be?

It's not like any of the devices are the Grand Canyon. Most are very shallow, about 1/32nd of an inch or so. A good example is the 1882-CC VAM-3 die progression. You will see that the VAM-3 has a die crack that has formed at the top of Liberty's cap (below the 2nd "U" of PLURIBUS) and in VAM-3D, it has finally made it's way through her hair to the "I" of LIBERTY, extend diagonally downward to the bottom of the "L" and then out into the field where it meets another crack that had just formed and is perpendicular to it.

Your die crack has evolved into a fairly substantial die break with considerable metal displacement, but don't ask me what it may be worth. It is only worth as much as some bidiot on FleaBay is willing to pay for it.
