I have a 1949 50 pfenning too. Jello I dont see the extra finger unless you think the thumb just longer then it should.
the early federal german coins were quite crude, the bank deutscherlander issues lasted for only 1 year.
Pop 2/0 (Tied for finest known). The addition of this coin completes my Albania under Zog circulation type set. I now have examples of every coin struck in gold, silver, bronze and nickel. Has taken me 21 years to complete.

My newset (ordered) coin. Someone split their set so i get this puppy for only $50. (sellers pic) but it gives me a perfect avatar for here lol P.S. credit must be given to my woman who found this for me or she will hurt me.
I think this is the 4th thread I have posted this coin to, but it is so beautiful (the woman at least) that I cannot resist posting it again.
Mat is right this is normal for the coins, here is another one: There is an exception, the 50 Pfennig error coin 1950 G "Bank Deutscher Länder" in uncirculated condition it's worth a few hundred € (600€ and more), in total approx. 30000 coins were minted. With the introduction of the € coins I hoped they would continue to use the old motif of the 50 Pfennig coin, unfortunately they decided otherwise. Now the 10 cent to the 50 cent coin have all the same motif, more diversity wouldn't hurt I might think. Wow, great coin and congratulation for completion of the set.
Beauties that are little rough around the edges Got these this week. The 1/2 Sol does not look that great, but could not find a better example in catalogs. Found the 0.5 SOL at the centro plaza market in a northern Chilean town called Iquique (nice town). Numista shows the 1 sol example as the 0.5 specimen and the Krause only shows the obverse. Anyone seen a inverted N (CONSTITUC) specimen described in the Krause?
Not cleaned Also bought this one in the market. I felt sorry for the seller. He had a few coins on a little carpet on the floor and was selling this one for 30 US. I give him 50. It is one of the only examples I have seen (not photo) that still have the coin surface intact with nice cartwheel. I explained that it makes the coin special and that he should not clean coins, since many of the others he had were cleaned badly. Nothing worse than a badly cleaned coin. What do you guys think is the grading on this?
2.5 better than 2 + 1 Added these to my centavo album. http://www.cointalk.com/members/derick/albums/clc/
Ugly but rare Buying ugly coins is like riding a scooter, it is fun until your friends see you. Not even a price in my Krause.
