Another day, another acquisition - this looks at first glance like just another Woodchopper, but alas, it is actually the second rarest issue - the Elliott Burke sig on the woodchopper has the second lowest recorded population at just over 100. I plan to get a nice high VF or higher of this note for my frame (I have the E-B Ace and Deuce already in AU) but this will do for now... Probably in my hands for just a short time but still got it at a nice deal and it's neat to have.

    Nice "Woodchopper" MEC2.

I picked this up recently but not because it is an error. I bought it because it is an experimental NATICK test paper note.

A special shout out to Scott Lindquist for helping me find this note.

I was torn about which of my newps to post next, decided to go with the trend and post another large note, this one is a NY Ace, none of the NY Aces are really rare but this is as rare as you can really get, the Sailer Strong sig combo. Had one in VG but saw this and had to upgrade to I think a note that slides just into VF20 territory, so I am happy with the upgrade. Man, I gotta start working on my for sale/upgrade stack, it's getting seriously tall...

Nothing we haven't seen before. I just won this note in a local auction today. No folds, clean, reasonably good centering and very good paper quality. I would grade this at either AU53 or AU55. I might take this with me to the FUN Convention and see if either PCGS or PMG has a show special going on for currency grading. I have a couple of other notes that might be worth while as well.

Nice mule! There were some nice notes at that auction, but I wasn't able to participate. Really liked the 5 Black Eagles.

I was fortunate to win this one. I sat next to a dealer who purchased 90% of all the paper currency in the auction. He simply held his paddle up until there was no one left bidding. Talk about deep pockets..... I thought he over paid on several items but he told me he viewed them all before hand so he shouldn't find any surprises.

A day can't go by without a new pickup. I think someone ought to give my mailman some reindeer, because everytime he shows up it's like MOTHER^&^ING CHRISTMAS!!! SHAZAM!!!

Don't find many of these lying about, this is a 1913 Parker Burke, 66 known, so it's the rare one. Came across this at auction and took a flyer, squeaked out a win on this lets just say substantially less than it has sold for in the past... woohoo!! Made my wife stay home all day just to wait for Santa err the mailman on this.

Remember that gold note frame? Well this note just screwed that frame all up!

Thanks Bonni, I really have cleaned up on Gold certs this year - been really lucky to find some deals.

My next new pickup - well why try to compete with that Fifty? As you all know I collect star notes from the 1928-1934 like an outhouse collects flies, but I usually am getting 10 and 20 notes - 5's are actually rare and not easy to come by. I actually have TWO recent wins, this is the first the came in, the other next week. Only 2 recorded - though it certainly isn't that scarce, they aren't handing them out on the corner either, and you take em in the condition you can get em. Nice to fill in the 5's with a couple wins...

I just put a bunch of stars up for Auction for the FUN Show... I too am partial to this Series and did keep select high grade stars and standard issue notes. I submitted perhaps 250 notes as I have some huge medical bills to pay!

    Love the stars!!!!

These are probably spenders, not keepers, but I got these in change last night from the Hibachi Grill.

Duke, you'll find some details here:

And Steve -- an error on Natick paper: that has to be pretty close to unique!
