Here's the one I sold for reference...I'm ALWAY on the lookout for these because dealers are dumb. LOL If you're good, you can find them graded AG or G and priced accordingly. FYI - I sold this to collector just like you looking to fill that dumb "no D" spot in his album.
Sure....keep in mind, there is absolutely NO TRACE of the D on either of these coins. That's why I don't see the point of the "weak D"....it's a stupid invention IMO.
As an avid fan of the the 1922D cents, I have many in my collection....including the weak D. But I obtained my weak D cents for the same price as a regular 22D....no premium. In fact, I think I got this spotted beast for like $10.
I agree with BadThad, too cheap and really poor pictures to determine if it's real or not. I'd skip it for the next one.
Well it's all for nothing now, I sent the seller asking a few more questions about the coin before I made the payment and he went "cyber off on me" LOL, I guess if he doesn't want to answer simple questions about the coin he doesn't want to sell it that badly. He also informed me that the price is going up I'll be sure to check out those coins graded to see if I can find a steal Thanks again everyone!
Diagnostics don't match-up with any die pairings for the "No 'D' Weak/Strong reverse" varieties. I concur - just a "Weak 'D'"
OOPS! If it does not match up with any of the die pairs (and I agree with this), then it is, by definition, not a weak "D". A true weak "D" can only come from die pair #1, #3 or #4.
