Best source for mint rolls?

How can one know for sure that a "mint" roll is truly unsearched? I've gone to my bank to ask about rolls of cents, and they said they don't get them (but I am able to get the new quarters now and then). I asked the local coin dealer, the best he could do was sell me some rolls of BU/AU specific dates (so, clearly searched by someone at some time).

I'm finding that it's more fun to search through rolls of BU cents. But where to get them?

Sure, sellers on ebay claim to sell what I want, but what criteria should I look for? Does anyone know of particular ebay sellers who actually sell bonafide unsearched BU rolls? What about "sewn" bags?

Any cents would do, wheaties or lincolns.

    Thanks for any advice/direction.

Large department stores like K-Mart, Wal-mart, Sears, Target get them regularly. Next time you visit one of these stores, ask the cashier at the check-out counter if he or she can spare a roll of whatever coins you want. Don't ask for a lot of them, jusdt one or two. Also branch banks are more apt to have a few half-dollars or older dollar bills they will exchange for you, especially in the richer areas of your county.

Otherwise, try a different bank. Most banks should have rolls of cents.

    Dot -

You might find it helpful to read this - BU Roll Buyer's Guide. A lot of people don't really understand the terminology used when people talk about BU rolls of coins. And a lot of them are sellers :secret:

You may already know all of this, but if you don't - well there it is ;)

Thanks GDJMSP. Yeah, I had seen that already, and it was very helpful. I just got two rolls of state quarters today from the mint, so now I know what those look like. Thing is, I see people selling the "crimpers" on ebay, those things that crimp the paper rolls, so I imagine it's possible to perhaps open and then recrimp a mint roll (?) Maybe not, I don't know. But I know if it's possible, someone on ebay will figure out how to do it.
