Anyone know why PCGS went from the edge view three pronged dealie back to the rubber washer? I just got some back yesterday (all dollars) and they all have the rubber washer.

Perhaps they had some leftover gaskets and decided to use them up instead of throwing them away.

Well at least they were consistant - they were all the old/new again style.
Or maybe they use them only on low end stuff - who knows. If someone gets the 3-prong style back, please reply to this post.

I received the three-prong style back last week and they were all coins valued at less than $400 each.

Humm. I have more there now - all Israeli - guess we'll see when they come back
Not that it matters,I guess. PCGSs prong type holders did not look as nice as NGCs, IMHO. I'm wondering if there was some sort of problem with the prong type?

No. They were all half-dimes through twenty-cent pieces.

I have dollar coins in the three pronged slabs if that is what you are thinking....

Me too. My last dollars I sent in before these were in July and they were in the three prong holders.

I think after they graded my obviously MS67 Ike as an AU58, they wanted to rub salt in my wounds by giving me an old gasket, probably from a re-submit ;). Or maybe after they dropped my Ike on the floor and it rolled into a corner (thereby making it AU), they found a old box of non-prongy gaskets...

Anyway, I guess this is a pretty pointless thread, so let us all let it die peacefully. But if you get a (large) dollar back in the future, let us/me know what the slab looks like.
