I have a set that has two gold foil cards. I have seen maybe six others that had two. I read somewhere that some had none or one ( Probably ebay ) . Does any one have any information on this item.

    Thanks

gold foil cards 1995 w anniversary set

I have seen a number of sets that all have two gold foil cards as issued from the mint. I have read that some were issued with one and others with no gold foil cards. Is there any information to prove or disprove this comment.

    Thanks

I do believe you are referring to the Prestige sets issued in the '90s. The sets came in a folder that opened like a book and inside the front and back covers were the gold foil cards you mention. The '95 10th Anniversary AGE/ASE set also had these gold foil cards. But most of these sets have been sold so many times in the secondary market that often these cards are missing.

Floyd might be able to - afraid I can't. But there's nothing to see really - it's just a flat piece of cardboard with gold foil on it. They were used as protective liners - nuttin to it really.

I do not think in terms of trading and selling coins, but more of accumlating coins I like.
The explanation Doug put forth makes sense, items that continue to become worth more are turned and everyone gets a try at captilism.
