I keep political buttons in my collection with exonumia items like poker chips, tokens & medals. Are political buttons considered exonumia? I'm just curious how our token & medal enthusiasts categorize political buttons. Since it is Election Day it might be nice to post some buttons from the past. Post em if you got em eek: but for gosh-sakes don't post anything that might be against the CT rules or pertain to the current elections ).
Anyone got a Mondale - Ferraro '84 I'm a little surprised that nobody has posted additional political buttons. I thought for sure someone would have an Ike, FDR, or Bush-Quayle to share here.
If you go to the William J Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas, you will see a fairly extensive collection of election pins from the days of Clinton's campaigns for governor to his two presidential campaigns. You can also buy them at the library's giftshop. Unfortunately, I did not buy any while I was there. If I did I would have gladly posted them on here for everyone to see. Since you have an interest in political buttons, Collect89, you may want to take a trip out there to visit this library and giftshop.
This "button" was worn by a lamp post on Pennsylvania Ave. before being liberated that cold and snowy evening of Jan. 20, 1961.
