2011 dime TONED?

    Looks like real toning to me, found in change. It's not silver.

  4. Cool. Looks like someone wrapped it in a Taco Bell napkin and let it bake on their dashboard for a few months. :eek: :)

    Clad coins will tone, some naturally, some not so naturally.

    Yep. Copper nickel coins aren't as chemically active as silver, but they will tone. I think yours Tim was just placed in an environment that naturally promoted toning.

    Nearly all metals, (gold is an exception), will oxidize, (tone), over time. Some are just more reactive, like copper and silver.
