For those who are mostly on the selling end of the hobby- what is currently hot?

I can't say what is hot, but the way things have been lately, I'm getting a pretty good idea of what's not.:(

According to the half dozen B&M's in my area, scrap silver spends maybe an hour or two in store before it's all sold out again. And in varying amounts, from a couple bucks to hundreds of dollars face. It's a pretty active market (at least here in the SF bay area) for scrap.

I'm not big time by any means at all, but I would have to say 40% Kennedy half dollar in lot sizes of 3 to 6 coins are hot right now on eBay.

Bullion is always "hot" around the holidays...

But as far as numismatic material goes, I can't say. I could tell you what isn't doing too well in the marketplace right now better than I could tell you what is... :p

I've been unloading Kennedy 64 for way over spot. Also Washington quarters are selling like hot cakes... at least for me they have been.

Seeing that the holiday season is coming up, I would assume Littleton Coin Co. Stuff is beginning to be "Hot"

Decided to use my alternate bank yesterday to cash my check... so I noticed some halves in the tellers tray (15 to be exact), traded them for $7.50 cash. There were six 40% in the mix. To eBay they go! :)

    What is selling!?
On eBay at least, nothing unless it's a SUPER bargain.
SUPER bargain = bullion below spot
SUPER bargain = coins below greysheet

I'm hoping that after Thanksgiving AND with stores decorated for Christmas things will pick up.

If you are looking at quick flips to try and double your money, or more you need to follow the Canadian Mints issues. Currently they have a Farewell to the Penny set (they minted their last penny this year) it issued at $149 and is just shy of selling for $200 above the issue price. Such a new issue, the majority of these sets have yet to be delivered.

The RCM puts out some pretty popular products that sell out quick and sell for way above original retail a few months later. I was fortunate to pick up one of each of the Niobium coins from last year, those were a quick sell out.

Exactly. The ladybug coin came out earlier and was it issued at $99 or $149? Now it's selling for $750.

Great example, I just picked up a couple of the $20 face Christmas Reindeer coins yesterday. Let's see what happens, I know the $20 polar bear sold out fast for the higher mintage and they're selling at pretty healthy premiums right now.

My inventory is not reflective of the overall market, but superb, attractive, problem-free type goes quickly.

I very rarely, if ever, see bullion sell below spot on Ebay. Do you mind elaborating?

Problem free VF and higher raw Barber coins are still hot, I'm still actively searching for some. And the ones I did sell to upgrade are going for ridiculous money, sometimes 20-30% over market.

I agree... every single common date, low grade Morgan or Peace dollar I've listed on eBay has sold in the $31 to $36 dollar range... the same coins I can pickup at the local B&M for $28.00.

Coins at local auctions are selling at 20-30% over ebay prices. If you want to sell coins, sell them at auctions. If I was a B&M dealer, I would list an auction once a month and see what shows up at the door. I think you would be surprized.

    Bullion
    Proof American Eagles
    gold close to spot
    Better Morgan dollars
Truly rare U.S. coins that are high-end/CAC
    Better Canadian/British material

    Best Regards, :hail:
