I was searching through pennies and this on stood out like a sore thumb, its from Oklahoma, what kind of info can anybody lend?
People have stamped a variety of things onto coins. I found one with a heart. Unless these have any type of historical significant they usually don't mean much. I know I took a counter-stamped coin I had to a coin show and showed to someone that does these counter-stamped coins. He said they are only more valuable if it is a widely known company that stamped it, the coin's value is usually based on the coin value rather than the counterstamp.
ok, appreciate the info, still gonna hold onto it, regardless of its value, who knows it may have some hidden past...
The most common finds are the state outlines and Kennedy. Slightly scarcer are the Masonic symbol - someone's lucky penny got blown! I probably have several dozen Kennedy stamped cents, mostly from 1974-6 from CRH searches.
