Which do you think this is: A ridiculous PCGS mistake or a counterfeit slab? Definitely NOT in MS state and definitely NOT FB... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1920-Mercury-Dime-PCGS-MS64FB-Full-Bands-Original-Toning-/271098720524?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item3f1ebe310c
since he has a high score i don't really get why he would even list it and you would think ebay would pull the listing.i don't know which it is,but he needs to pay closer attention.interresting find to say the least.
I've got one like this I recently got in a slab grab bag... I know I would have never called it a MS66
The problem with “professional” graders who don’t know what eye appeal is. Or, this coin toned that way after it was slabbed – I’ve seen this when the dip wasn’t removed completely.
What Were They Thinking? In my opinion, someone has taken "market grading" to a new level. I believe that coin is marginally almost uncirculated. "Full Bands"? I have thousands of coins like this that are in tubes marked EF/AU. I only see one full band, and although the vertical lines are separated, the diagonal bands are barely raised/complete. Uniform MS64 "attractive mint luster"? I'm sorry, but I've been seeing too much of this lately, and wonder how anyone can define coin grades, when the A.N.A. technical grades are so disregarded by TPG. JMHO :thumb:
