If you would have bought this in January, it would be a great one to wrap up the year. Beautiful Fugio, I've always wanted one of these.
Very nice! Is that 66 a SMS strike or a business strike? It seems to have great luster and nice toning on it too.
I think I can speak for some guys when I say if you can get your hands on any chain cent, that's a phenomenal acquisition Mark. Regardless of grade.
I'm sorry, I don't know. It came in a 2x2 marked "1966-", just the year-and-a-dash. I probably should have asked before I left. Darn. Next time I'm in, I'll bring it along and ask. Yes, they both have attractive (I think anyway) luster and toning. Ha! Thanks! Thanks for the comments. -L
I picked up this monster toned Ike Dollar today. PCGS PR67. Note that these are the sellers photos, but if my eyes are not deceiving me and the photo is accurate, it might be the first example of "elevation chromatics" (visible on Ike's head) on a modern toned coin that I ever recall seeing. All other examples of elevation chromatics that I have seen were coins dated in 1800's (mostly Morgan silver dollars).
WingedLiberty, I'm no where near a toned coin fan, but I am curious...what is "elevated chromatics," and why usually only on 1800 coinage?
