I use to enjoy watching the coin show on shop at home TV, I don't get that on my cable anymore. The main guy there Robert ?, a southern guy seemed pretty knowledgable about coins in general use to boast about the truckloads of big green boxes the got from the mint and sent directly to NGC for grading. When ever he quoted a coin price, to show how reasonable their own prices were which they weren't, he would state the price from a "leading numusmatic catalog". I would just sit back with redbook and chuckle. Must admit the guy kept me entertained for hours.
Thanks for the info. I've never bought from Littleton but have bought collections containing coins that were purchased from them.
As a kid, I bought many, many stamps from Littleton on approval. It was a BIG DEAL to go to the mailbox each day to see if a new package arrived! I diligently went through them, kept what I wanted, and returned the rest with payment. Littleton trusted me, even just being a geeky kid. If that means I overpaid for something here and there, it didn't matter. I knew it would all balance out price wise.
